For seven years of my career, I worked as a manager and communications manager for an Afrobeat group that covered Fela Kuti songs, giving us the opportunity to tour and open for Femi Kuti. This period was very important for me, as, given my European upbringing, there was a lot of terminology and history that eluded me. So, I could say that the Fela Kuti universe, both musically and politically, opened a new way of thinking and a new way of seeing the world. My passion for this rhythm led me to visit Lagos and share the Felabration festival with Femi Kuti, his dancers, and his team at the African Shrine itself. This sparked my interest in other rhythms known as Black music or world music, both from Africa and beyond.
